Most couples who come to us already agree on most of the big stuff. The problem isn't the divorce - it's not knowing how to get it across the finish line without things spiraling.
Two people hire lawyers. What was manageable turns into an 18-month battle costing $25,000-$50,000 each - and you end up with basically the agreement you would have reached yourselves.
You try the pro se forms. It's a 50-plus-page packet not designed for non-lawyers. Miss one contingency - on the house, in the parenting plan - and that mistake follows you for years.
It's not that you can't agree. Most couples who come to us already agree on most things. The problem is not knowing how to get it across the finish line - cleanly, quickly, and on your own terms.
Weekend Mediation lets two willing spouses reach a complete divorce agreement in a single weekend - with an experienced, neutral professional who helps you navigate the specifics without taking sides.
Then, you complete your documents. And you file. Simple as that.
You and your spouse meet with an experienced, neutral family law mediator via Zoom. By evening, most couples have a full agreement.
After mediation, complete the forms together.
File your agreement. Georgia requires a mandatory 31-day waiting period before a judge signs off - but your agreement is done, the clock is started, and you did it in a weekend.
The Weekend Divorce Pre-Mediation Checklist is a 7-step guide built specifically for Georgia couples who want to move through mediation as efficiently as possible.

Not sure? That's exactly what the discovery call is for. Our intake team will ask you a few quick questions and let you know honestly whether mediation is the right path - or point you to the service that is.
Jeanette Soltys is a family law attorney and certified mediator, and the founder of Atlanta Holistic Family Law. She built the Weekend Divorce service because she kept seeing the same pattern: couples who were basically in agreement, stuck, not because of the conflict, but because they didn't have someone to help them get it across the finish line.
Atlanta Holistic Family Law offers mediation and amicable divorce services. Our mediators are vetted, experienced, and selected because they bring creative problem-solving, not just message relay, to the table.

We know you're making big decisions. Here are the practical answers you need to feel confident moving forward.
Always by Zoom. Each spouse is placed in a separate virtual room, so you never have to be on screen with your spouse if you don't want to.
Most sessions run 4-8 hours, depending on the number of open issues. We schedule the full day on Saturday so there's no time pressure.
A partial agreement still has value. Even narrowing down the issues and fully understanding each side's position saves significant time and money if you do need attorneys to resolve the remaining points.
Judges have discretion to review agreements, particularly around child support and custody. Our mediators are experienced with what Georgia courts expect.
The checklist is free. Mediation is a flat fee of $1,500, per spouse. Court filing fees vary by county.
Yes. Having consulted a lawyer doesn't disqualify you from mediation. The key question is whether both spouses are still open to a mediated agreement.
Let's help you get across the finish line.
